What deed is most loved by Allah?

1) To offer each prayer as soon as it is due.

2) Treating one's parents with honour & respect.

3) Jihad for the sake of Allah. ^_^v

~ As narrated in a Hadith, by Imam Bukhari & Muslim radhiyAllahu 'anhuma.

Hmm. They may seem simple.. but could we do them at our best?

ya Allah, may You ease our hearts & intentions so that we may be able to..
being the insan that we are, sometimes we forget the very hope that we have
pinned up high, to get closer to You & feel blessed with Your Love.. astarghfirullah. do forgive us all..

The Beautiful Brides

[ Music | Mestica – Selamat Pengantin Baru ]

Terpatri janji antara dua hati..
Simpulan cinta kasih bersemi nan berseri..
Cinta sejati tulus mulus dan murni..
Tetap kan bersama hingga di Syurga nanti ~ Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

One of the perks I feel you could possibly get for being in an Islamic girls' school - for 10 good years since primary one – is that there are numerous numbers of feminine role models to look up to! Adding on to the Ustazahs that we young students marvel at for their motherly figures, ah… the senior sisters come close to what I personally see as "The Model Muslimahs" since I was seven. ^_^ No matter if they are two years older, or six years higher in rank, I would still hold them dearly as ladies ought to be respected for their characters. Even now I could still feel a slight tremor in my heart when I accidentally bump into any one of them hehe.. not exactly those fear kind of thing perhaps; but it's one of an esteemed admiration for a sister in faith. Smile

And so.. there's no doubt that a special feeling nudges me deep when I get to see some of their wedding pictures.. subhanAllah, am just soo delighted for them! One by one ties the nuptial knot, ever so blessed in marriage happiness. Perhaps there are others that I may not be aware of the happy news, but here's an entry dedicated to the lovely sisters who are now zaujahs (wives) that I know: Kak Julissa, Kak Hanani, Kak Fidzah and Kak Maria. *wheee~* :D

Allahumma ya Rabbi, Your Mercy I sincerely seek that their marriage be a blessed union everlasting till the Promised Paradise. May you bestow between their hearts perpetual love and care towards one another, safely protected throughout the years with Your Compassionate Guidance. And forever let them be in the embrace of Iman and Mahabbah for You..

And may He give us all the most suitable companion whom He know are best for us, blissfully sharing the days in taqwa & tranquility together.. Allahumma Ameen. :))

Hirratun & Rahmah (:

[ Music | Hijjaz – Belaian Ibu ]

As I sit here looking out into the heavy rain, I guess I'll miss spending time with Ibu at home as much as I could once school starts soon. Although FYP's taking a fairly huge slice of my time this holidays, having the chance to still be able to keep a constant sight of her while I'm researching away with laptop in the living room really gives a comforting feeling.. Oh seeing that special smile & laughter when I amuse her with my silly antics :P and us accompanying each other while waiting for Ayah & Sisters to come home from work and school.. it just keeps the heart at peace. (:

Di saat kita berjauhan
Rasa ingin ku berlari
Mendakapimu penuh girang
Bak si kecil kehilangan

Kau insan penyayang
Betapa ku merindu
Lembutnya belaian ibu
Membuatku terlena

My my.. I think I could safely say that That's the most affectionate feline I've ever seen! :D We were all simply thrilled by it while watching our fav America's Funniest Home Videos together. (And thank you Youtube for having the funny cat compilation!) Makes a hearty visual delight for the whole family ^_^ But but.. my personal heart-melting wonder of wonders would be the sweetie from Talking Cats.. aahh.. couldn't help but squeal in gleeee when it let out a super cute "Mama"! Adeih.. padahal ini baru kucing ehh.. belum lagi baby panggil "Ibuu.." huhu >_<

Hmm.. This reminded me of a Hadith lesson back in al-Ma'arif when Ustazah Sukarti told us about Abdur-Rahman radhiyAllahu 'anhu, one of the companions of Rasulullah sallAllahu 'alayhi wa sallam. But he continued to be known as Abu Hurairah or "the kitten man", literally "the father of a kitten" because like the Prophet he was fond of cats and since his childhood often had a cat to play with! Pleasantly surprised ~ Smile

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "A man felt very thirsty while he was on the way, there he came across a well. He went down the well, quenched his thirst and came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. He said to himself, "This dog is suffering from thirst as I did."

So, he went down the well again and filled his shoe with water and watered it. Allah thanked him for that deed and forgave him. The people said, "O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?" He replied: "Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate (living being)." (See Hadith No. 551)

Sajak Pilihan: Hentian Tafakur I

"ku bertatih, perlahan (amat perlahan)
menggalas beban dosa yang berat
berpatah kaki, bertongkat jari
menuju ke luas pintuMu
saujana hamparan taubat.

beban dosa yang kupikul ini
mungkinkah menjadi nanah nanar
berulat meratah daging di jiwaku?
atau, bisakah aku
membasuh selut lumpur yang membungkus
saat ubun-ubunku mencecah
persemayamanMu?

kerdil, sungguh kerdil
sebesar zarah kurasa
saat merangkak
   dalam nista yang tak terhitung
   dalam noda yang tak terbendung

Oh Tuhan
doaku amat tebal
doaku amat panjang
ampunilah daku, Tuhan
ampunilah, di setiap zarah

biar semakin lewat
aku tetap sujud padaMu."

~ tintasukma, 21 Ramadan 1427H

Sajak dipetik dari lelaman e-sastera.com. Dan hati kian diterpa insaf yang hening menusuk.. subhanAllah. terima kasih, tintasukma. barakAllahu feek. (:

Everyone's different ^_^

6 unusual things about me [As requested by Mai hehe]:

1) Sitting by the beach makes me giddy sometimes. Why ehh? *quizzical look*

2) Loves to borrow many books at a time! But never completes reading the whole set -__-

3) Can be quite an avid admirer of classic Malay songs once in a while. Well, ukhti just asked me to wear my earphone while listening to Gurindam Jiwa (sung by R. Ismail & Rafeah Buang) now. Heee.. Sedap ape.. :P

4) I've fainted around 7 times perhaps since the past 18 years. It feels just like taking a short nap actually, but with the back of the head getting very painful from the hard knock against the floor >_< and yes, embarrassing too.. keke. Still remember feeling all paisey when slowly waking up and saw the many heads peering down at me. *Thinking - Nak bangun ke tak ehh? Segannyee~* =D

5) Palms get all cold when feverish. But goes back to xtra warm in normal mode. Fever indicator! Hehhe..

6) I don't know how to cycle, and I forgot how to swim! Ish ishh.. *shakes head* =D

Awakening the Child within~
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketWith an adorable grin sweetly beaming till the eyes arch upwards, who could resist buying this ever so cuuute Mr Bean handphone keychain? Ahh.. simply melt at the sight~ *Pinch2* (the size & appearance are exactly like the one shown here!) :D Us three siblings happily bought one each while patronizing the soya bean drinks and snacks shop. Ummm.. delectable sweetness!

And yes, the tagline & statement that they use are equally catchy too. Check this out: "Have you felt the beauty of a smile, the warmth of a touch or the bliss of simply watching the world go by.. Share a little time and imagination with us. Let's indulge in Life's Simple Pleasures." Nice one! ^_^

Hehe.. so out of nowhere the thought of CareBears popped into mind (and the week before was Mr Men & Little Miss :P) and Google led me to this! Yayy~ Real cuddly + Pleasant traits = Lovable bears Big Smile Couldn't help but wonders how lovely it would be to present them to the young ones using Islamic terms for a change. Like E = Eeman (Faith) and S = Sabr (Patience). ^_^

Reading Sis Khadijah's commentary on "A to Z of Akhlaaq: Moral Values for Children" illustration book seriously makes me feel like going back to Muslimedia again and purchase it like the other time I went there with her & Kak Nadiah last week! =D The example which she quoted is super sweet~

"K is for Keeping A Promise, it's not an easy task. However, it has to be fulfilled, before ever being asked." Then below there's a picture of a little girl in hijab running in the rain with a present in hand, to attend her friend's 'Eid Party, bcoz she has promised so. Next is a picture of her friend looking sooo glad when she arrived."

Hmm. But guess I should firstly try to finish reading what I have in my hands now instead - "21 Kaedah Mendidik Anak Cemerlang" by Dato' Dr. Hj Mohd Fadzilah Kamsah. Good contents! Hopefully could reap some pointers on how to engage with youths better & help my facilitation/mentoring skills too.. ^_^

The best rock-climbing event I had with Saff-Perdaus last year I think.. Enjoyed it to the fullest! Got to rock-climb for the 1st time (albeit going home with a bruised knee from a hard slamming accident on the wall while abseiling >_<), had a great time with the young PPIS sisters, and real glad that my dearest akhawat were there with me too.. Kak Nadiah, Kak Ruqayyah (Ukhti, I deeply miss reading your online writings.. huhu), Jannah, Sis Mardhiyah and both Kak Nurulhuda.. Couldn't forget the fun-filled learning moments. ((:

Al-Qahwah wasy-Syai
Coffee = Inspiration = Good Day..

Spotted this tagline while the family was having some mini munchies at Changi Airport's McDonalds branch.. Hmm. Is it? That depends I guess. Preference varies for people yea. Well I could get a little headachy after sipping a cup of coffee. The reaction doesnt matches somehow. hehe. So personally I do prefer asy-Syai or Tea over al-Qahwah. Ahh.. what bliss it is to have a Pokka Jasmine green tea in hand~ ^_^

As a matter of fact, I think retail therapy is not the sought-after solution when it comes to cheering myself up again. But Sugar-Rush Ice-cold drinks do work wonders though! Hee.. Terus leh jadi happy2 balik~ High eh Diy? keke =D So there was that one day during the last week of school when I just got too thirsty and started downing an Ice Milk Tea (Addictive!) from the school's cafe. Gah.. then the sweetness-drinking spree escalated on the way home to a Season's Ice Lemon Tea, a can of AloeV white grape juice and finally settled on a pure Sugarcane Juice from a fruits' stall. MasyaAllah... nikmatnyaaa~ Big Smile

But yeah. Then comes the undesirable outcome no doubt. Been coughing hard even till now. Aduh.. kene letak pantang pulak dah.. takleh minum air manis. *sedih2* >_<  But alhamdulillah, the cough comes as a lesson for the better I guess. Money safely saved from spending hehe.. So taking a moderate stand is the best to adopt yea. :))

Anyways, I was quite surprised to know from Sis Khatim of Yusuf Islam's son, Muhammad Islam, who has also made an appearance in the music scene. Took me quite a while there to believe it actually. hehe. And quoting from her blog, "He goes by the stage name of Yoriyos, and he's not too bad a troubador. You can check out his music here" Do find his songs quite catchy to the ears. I like "The Pied Piper" the best. Smile

"Where do I go when all that I see
Are fictitious takes on reality
Who will I seek to paint my dream - or my life
Because I've tried real hard to seek out and find
An open heart, an open mind
Who will stand with me when I find
Wrong and Right?"

Ummul Mukminin – The Great Women of Islam

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketIf I had a post featured on the Exemplary Men from the Past a few weeks back, it would be incomplete to not have one focused on the Mother of Believers yea. :) In times where women are sadly portrayed in a negative light (or ironically some of them are the ones who expose themselves as such. sigh. more skins revealed = self-respect? twisted betul concept -___- ), it's always comforting to have our epitome of women with Imaan to return and reflect upon. Always. Smile Here's a good read from the Imam of al-Madina al-Munawarrah, Syeikh 'Abdul Muhsin Ibn Muhammad al-Qaasim, on the Ummul Mukminin..  [ Click Here for the full article ]

"Foremost among them is Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid radhiyaAllahu 'anha, the religious and noble woman. She grew up upon virtuous characters and manners. She was chaste and gracious, and was known among Makkah womenfolk as 'the pure woman'. At the beginning of the Prophet's mission, he was faced with many tribulations. But she stood by him compassionately and supported him with her life, wealth and outstanding intelligence. Whenever he heard any undesirable words from the people and came to her, she would strengthen and console him. Khadeejah was a great and dutiful wife to her husband and an affectionate mother to her children. She was extremely good-mannered. Khadeejah was perfect in her religion, wisdom and conduct.

Allaah loved Khadeejah, so did His angels. The Messenger of Allaah also loved her so much. He said,

"I am blessed with her love." (Muslim)

[ Music | Hijjaz - Dilema ]

Lihatlah panorama dunia, wanita bagaikan hilang rasa malunya
Maruah yang menjadi maharnya, tergadai sia bagai tiada berharga

Di manakah budinya di manakah akhlaknya
Sungguh pilu dan sayu mengenangkannya
Santun tiada lagi nafsu memimpin hati

Rasulullah dijadikan suami, tertawan kerna keluhuran pekerti
Bukan kerana harta bukan kerana nama, tapi kerana budi yang disanjungi
Kembalilah...

Wanita perhiasan dunia, bagai kilau permata di antara kaca
Sayangnya makin pudar cahaya, Hingga tiada lagi beza di antaranya..

My dear sisters, the path to righteousness wouldn't be easy, but it is one that would bring us to our true desired happiness, and hopefully our destined abode close to Him. may He give us all the determined strength to undertake it. Allahumma Ameen..

"And whosoever of you is obedient to Allaah and His Messenger and does righteous good deeds, We shall give her, her reward twice over, and We have prepared for her a noble provision." (Al-Ahzaab 33:31)

Qiyamul Lail.. Sambutlah seruannya

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The admirable one - Uswatun Hasanah
I am one who's constantly intrigued by the inner workings of the human mind; creative-thinking, problem-solving & reasoning skills, multiple intelligences, etc.. ahh. Fascinating. ^_^ It's a joy definitely when I just recently chanced upon the book "How to Think like Leonardo Da Vinci" by Michael J.Gelb, and shall get my hands on Stephen R.Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" insyaAllah.. (:

And just when I was poring over the former's introduction, there's this passage inside that struck me deep.. "As we become adults, we have a unique advantage: we can choose whom and what to imitate.. It makes sense, therefore, to choose the best "role models" to guide and inspire us toward the realization of our potential." And he even went on to describe Da Vinci as "the most enigmatic figure" and guaranteed that "you'll be uplifted by his spirit, inspired by his quest, and exalted by your association with him."

But I felt restless reading this. Da Vinci as the best role model? Certainly not. A figure that can be followed and given due respect in certain areas, such as with regards to his thinking, and yes perhaps we could gain helpful tips and knowledge from it. But in terms of guidance? Prophet Muhammad shallallahu 'alayhi wasallam remains as the Finest Examplar above all.. And so I found the answer that calmed me down again, as I flipped back through the book which I had just bought from Bayaan (from yesterday's post) and slowly read its text*:

"And for the man who wishes to reap success and prosper in this world and the Hereafter, who seeks Allah's mercy & pleasure (redha), let him follow the best example ever existed in the Prophet (may peace be upon him) and reap lessons from such aspects; of his noble manners and priorities, his way of action and leading this life, of his methods in avoiding what's forbidden..

From here could we then reach our goal, hoping to have our character nurtured, our souls lifted up high, excellently righteous in holding strongly to Islamic principles, and blissfully being with Rasulullah shallallahu 'alayhi wasallam in Paradise."
